When it comes to sharing a journey I always do it for one of two reasons; 1. To allow the person to feel even more proud, highlighted & shared or 2. To have that person inspire, motivate, encourage or push someone to maybe do what they did.
I think Sharn & I'll agree that is very much has a mindset that if she can do it so can anyone, but not in the sense that what she’s doing is easy, but because she has overcome so much fucking challenge in her life, yet here she is, looking after the future her.
Sitting down with Sharn originally one of her biggest points was I don’t want to live in the gym… funny now because she does by choice, but what she meant was not 6 days a week, 20k steps & tracking 7 days a week with no flexibility or ability to do anything else. Something we have created, set out and foundation set to not be the case & create a life of control NOT restriction.
It feels unfair to sum her journey up in a few words, so im not, yet this post is also only the start of her journey & a life to come of doing right by her. . One huge thing I’ve learnt in coaching is tell someone not to do something & they either do or they don’t just because they were told, but if you tell someone what comes, the results/ repercussions, the reasons behind something & allow them to make the choice - that’s when you see someone truly learning to look after them from their own want. Thats coaching to me.
